Hardware Firewalls
The good news is that the free voice ADSL modem I recommend has a firewall built in! If you want a more advance firewall without having to pay Cisco an arm and a leg try IPCOP click the link on the left of the IPCop home page to see the amazing screenshots. IPCOP is better than most commercial firewalls!
Software Firewalls
Even better Windows XP (SP2), Macs and Linux all ship with firewalls. I also use and recommend the Kerio Personal Firewall from Sunbelt software. This runs in demo mode for 30 days, after this time some of features stop working, but the excellent firewall still works!
