Home Media Step One: Get Kodi Installed
This might sound odd but the best way to get a media setup that you can work with is not to buy anything but try out the technology using stuff you might have already!
To start with Home media you need a device with a screen and an internet connection.
- PC/ MAC or Laptop
- Android Tablet / Or Phone
- Raspberry Pi, Linux System etc..
So you have a network system, if it has HDMI out then try connecting it up. If you can't find the cable on eBay for less that $7 delivered give up. I know some of the Samsung tablets need a $50+ adaptor forget that just use the screen you have for your trail and you can upscale to dedicated HDMI capable hardware for unit $40
Go the the main Kodi Home page and get the free software http://kodi.tv/
Follow the guides to install for your platform. This typically takes a few minutes.
